At Hillcrest Elementary, we are so excited about the 2021-2022 school year! Here are just a few friendly reminders about the Hillcrest Elementary Car Line. 1. Please be respectful of the neighborhood. Leave driveways open while waiting in car line. 2. The car line map is located in the handbook and on the parent resources tab of this website. 3. Please do not cut in front of others in the line. IF you turn on Northwood, you must go all the way to the end of the line of cars to join car line. 4. Please use your car rider tag. 5. Children must be able to get in on the right side of the car. 6. Kindergarten car line dismissal is from 2:30-2:45 and first and second grade dismissal is from 2:45-3:05. Friendly reminder that the new mask mandate includes all students, Kindergarten through twelfth grade. Hillcrest students and employees will be required to wear masks. Our “Back to School” parent letter was sent out in July and did not reflect the current guidance. Please make this change before school begins this Thursday, August 19. We hope everyone is having a terrific summer! Our schools and district leaders have been working on detailed plans for reopening schools and providing educational services this fall using the Louisiana Department of Education's Guidelines updated on June 23, 2021. Louisiana remains under a Public Health Emergency and is expected to remain in Phase 3 until the end of 2021. Lincoln Parish School Board will work diligently to ensure our students and employees are safe throughout this pandemic. In order to keep parents and guardians up to date, the Lincoln Parish School Board has developed the Ready to Achieve Plan. Much like the Strong Start Plan implemented last year, this document includes start dates, a link to supply lists, and re-opening guidelines for the 2021-2022 school year. Lincoln Parish Schools will be closed Monday, January 11, due to winter weather conditions. Student assignments can be found on Google Classroom, or some were sent home by teachers on Friday. Good Morning! We are eagerly awaiting the return of our virtual students! The return date for all Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade students transitioning from virtual to in-person learning will be Thursday, Oct. 15. Flyers detailing school dress code and school supplies, along with Progress Reports, were mailed to virtual students. Make sure to contact the transportation department if your child is needing to ride the bus to or from school beginning the 15th. Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) Program | Louisiana Department of Children & Family Services Louisiana Reopens 2019-2020 P-EBT Application for Families Who Did Not Apply in May and June Families Who Received P-EBT during the May-June Application Period are NOT Eligible The P-EBT program provides help buying groceries for the families of children who were receiving free and reduced-price meals at school last school year. These one-time benefits are $285 per eligible child. This covers 50 school days missed from statewide school closures during the pandemic. Some parents became eligible for free and reduced lunch in May 2020. They would receive $91.20 per eligible child, which covers the cost of meals for 16 school days in May. The initial PEBT application period closed on June 15, 2020, and served 407,800 children. This second application period is aimed at the 264,111 children who qualified but did not receive PEBT the first time. http://www.dcfs.louisiana.gov/page/pebt-program All students in LP are eligible for free breakfast and lunch during school days until December 31, 2020 or money runs out.
